Multiple macs?

Anyone here have a good solution to harness two or more macs with DP? I have a dual G-5 mac and am adding a new 8-core. I want to run both together and am wondering if anyone has a method that works well.

vst system link in cubase, maybe? i read somewhere also that there is a vst plugin that can connect two or more machines using simple ethernet cables...
