Amplidood's GUI mod 3.5.2 (always updating first post)

Let me begin by saying that it is impossible to please everyone with one approach to a GUI. My goal is simpy to give DP users an alternative to the standard DP6 GUI. There are things I like about what MOTU did... and a lot that I don't. It became clear to me right away that there was no way I was going to be able to look at this new version for extended periods of time. So, I decided that I would try and make it work for me.... hopefully my efforts can help a lot of users actually enjoy the upgrade. Maybe it can attract some new users as well.

So, for your consideration....Amplidood's DP6 GUI mod 3.5.2...

Please join my user list by emailing me at amplidood@gmail.com. Thanks!!
Installation is very simple if you follow the steps listed on the folders.
Compatible with DP 6.01/6.02 ONLY

AmpGUI Color scheme...http://b5.s3.p.quickshareit.com/files/a ... se8116.zip
Image
For those interested, here's my color scheme I use with the mod. It's based on "Wayland Dithers"
-Place the file in your Digital Performer preference folder (user/*you*/library/preferences/digital performer)
-Set your color prefs to "Use track color for wave background".
-Use dark colors for Aux, MIDI and Master tracks. This way they show up with white lettering in the mixer. It helps differentiate them from regular audio traacks.
-This file has all the default schemes plus mine...there's no way to import/export individual schemes.

Some things I can't do anything about (but would like to be able to...)
Insert Highlighting
I don't know where this is controlled, so you have to put up with insert highlights being in their original shape.
Wiper color
Same as above. It's too dull a color as it stands now, but I have no idea where to change it.
Meters
All the meters are attached to the color settings in the Default Style XML document. The graphics files for the way the meters used to look (green to yellow) are still in the images folder...all over the place as a matter of fact. Somehow MOTU decided to override those files and use a single color defined by the XML doucument. I haven't figured out a way to detach the two, and there may not be without getting into DP's binary code. I'm not really willing to dig around in there. So for now the only meters we really have any control over are the Tracks Overview level meter. Another problem is that changing the meter frame color works everywhere except the mixer. So I've just left it alone for now.
White spaces in automation and mixer buttons
I don't know where these are controlled. I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of them since the beginning, with no luck.
Solo Exempt
I wish I could find a way to have the mixer reflect solo exempt status. The Solo button simply disappears...feels more like a glitch than an indicator, because you can't change anything from the mixer. That may be beyond the realm of a GUI mod, however.
Inserts
-It would be nice if you could actually drag the insert graphics around (like in Logic).

DISCLAIMER
Any loss of data, time, or sanity is not the responsibility of this developer. MOTU does not officially support these mods and any tech issues experienced will be the sole responsibility of the license holder. Working from a copy of DP and not the original will ensure that everything will work as MOTU intended should the mod ever go awry. It only changes some graphic files and a few text strings, so there shouldn't be any issues following proper installation.

Very, very nice work. I've done some modding based on the settings file but haven't gotten to modding the images. I'm thinking about where this might be posted...

I fixed your link, Andy. You're previous URL between the img tags was an HTML page. To post the pic from the flickr site, you have to go to the page URL, choose the size you want, then right-click on the Download Link, and copy that URL and use that between the img tags.

James, should I just keep updating the very first post? Might make more sense.

Here's that link. It's a 730MB file.

BTW I took the spaces out as I've had trouble posting URL's with spaces in the filenames.

Teamwork baby! :D
