MIDI Express XT - MIDI Wind Controller data not routing

I have a MIDI Express XT and while wind controller MIDI data routes to external MIDI synth modules, it never shows up in any MIDI aware program on my Windows XP SP2 based PC. Same Wind Controller's MIDI data does show up when plugged into my Emu 1820m MIDI ports on the same computer.
Any suggestions? Am using Cubase 4 and also MIDI OX and same behaviour in both.
