DP & Trilogy - Giving up

DP6 is awesome and smooth as silk on my MacPro. So is Stylus/RMX; but Trilogy continues to be a problem. I'm ready to give up on the "wrappers" and extra apps and find a new Bass plug-in.

Any suggestions?

There isn't any info on Spectrasonic's site that the wrappers are DP6 compatible, maybe there's an update coming up.

Honestly, I like the program, but Trilogy has been spotty on my Intel Mac and I'm tired of waiting for a solution. I can at least give another plug-in a try while I wait for a Trilogy update.

Spectrsonics has Omnisphere coming out in September to replace Atmosphere, and have also promised to replace Trilogy. Both, I assume should be OK with DP 6.

I have no problems using both programs on DP 5.13 on a PPC Mac.

I agree. I can get it to work but I don't feel confident with it running so I'll quickly print the track. I also play bass so I don't rely on it as much as Atmosphere. It works fine in Logic 8 and works better in DP 5.13. I'd be inclined to do tracks in DP 5.13, print and then open in dp6. What's comparable, anyone know? And by comparable I mean has acoustic basses, fretless, electric and electronic synth basses?

That is the problem....at least for me. I love the bass sounds in Trilogy and have not been able to part with the plug. That is why I am still using a PPC G5 and DP 5.13. I have always been a slow upgrade person anyway!

Basis samples sound good, but it seems its offering alot of effects more than say articulation.
I have Scarbee RedBass, so I been rather satisfied for regular ol' elect bass, even Pettingtonhouse's free DI bass is rather good.

Fretless bass is very seldom sampled instrument it seems. Manybass has a new fretless module. I have't checked out the samples yet though. They also have libs of acoustic bass in Kontakt format. But their demos are kinda lame.

I 've been searching for a good acoustic bass lib too. VSl seems to have a nice "standup bass" module, though it may be more for small ensembles type stuff than anything else.

there's some decent basses in garritan big band and colossus, which means east west must have something.

The factory acoustic bass that comes with mach V 2 is comparable. In fact, personally speaking I think it's a little grittier than the trilogy acoustic - which I like.
