Power for Micro Express

Hello All,
This may be a silly question, but here goes...

I was pointed to the Micro Express to solve two issues.

1) I need a MIDI interface to PC for three keyboards

2) In live applications, I was looking for a 'MIDI-director'. I would like to control one keyboard live from another. At other times I would like to shut off the control easily. Since the Micro Express can merge and channelize MIDI data even when not connected to a computer, I proposed setting up a preset with no MIDI transmitted, and another that transmits the control data. The fact that I did not need to have this connected to a computer for this live application was a big plus. My silly question is this... "How does the Micro Express get power when it is not connected to a computer via USB?"

I thank all for any advice.

Hi

Quote:
Micro express USB connector provides power. No separate power cable is required.

You have to connect Micro express with computer USB to get it working.

You might be able to use a generic USB power supply.

A blurb that appears on the Micro Express Tour for the Front Panel Interface states "User and factory presets provide stand alone operation, allowing you to merge and channelize MIDI data, even when the Micro Express is not connected to a computer.

May I ask... What is a generic USB power supply?
