DP 5.1 and Atmosphere Problem

I am running Digital Performer 5.1. When I try to create a VI track with Atmosphere it freezes up and then crashes DP. Is anyone else having this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

First I'd recommend upgrading to the latest OSX, Atmosphere, and DP 5.13.

Atmosphere also required a wrapper to run in DP 5. Available at Spectrasonics website, I'm pretty sure.

I just upgraded to Leopard. I will try to upgrade to DP 5.13 tonight and also Atmosphere if there is an upgrade and see what that does.
Thanks.

Does this help?

In my PPC system (see sig) I have to use the VST wrapper version for Atmosphere to work. Trilogy and Stylus seem to be OK without the wrapper.

I have a Power Mac G5 which isn't an intel processor, so I don't think that helps me.. But thanks.

OK. I updated DP to DP 5.13. I Updated Atmosphere to 1.2.4. And Atmosphere still crashes DP when I try to open it... I'm not sure what to do, except get DP 6.

You can also ask Spectrasonics and MOTU tech support. Do you have any other host apps on your system to test if Atmosphere works with them? Has Atmosphere worked ok with DP at some point?

I have a Power Mac G4 and with the VST wrapper it works fine. In my case, when I select "Add Instrument" it shows (amongst all the other VI's) 2 versions of Atmosphere. I load the one earmarked VST and I'm OK...the non VST version will not work on my system. It doesn't crash DP, it just doesn't work at all.

Yes, Atmosphere worked perfectly when I was running DP 4.6. I am using AU though.. Maybe I should try VST with that wrapper and see if that works...
I have MOTU Symphonic Instrument and it is working fine.
Use Rax for Atmosphere PPC without wrapper

I use Atmosphere without the wrapper for intel Macs by loading it into Rax, which is worth it, since that stupid free wrapper has wasted so much time with some users (like me). Just read the spectrasonics list, and you'll get to enjoy all the rancor. Rax is very useful, too, for other things.

Rax demo lets you load 1 AU, too, and doesn't expire, so if Atmosphere is your 1 AU, it's just as free as the wrapper.

Thanks a lot! I'll be sure and try that.
Here's a quick question:
I have about 7 or 8 projects that I created with DP 4.6 and they use the atmosphere plug-in. Now, when I open those projects in DP 5.13, it crashes DP. I'm afraid that I've lost all of that work and composed music.....
Any ideas?

I'll have to check out the Rax thing. When I was on ppc and went to leopard Atmosphere and trilogy quit working all together so I bought the vst wrapper by audioease.

Got Atmophere loaded in Rax (demo mode). It's actually the intel wrapper version but it loaded fast and is playing perfectly. Can trigger it from within DP6 no problem. How are you getting audio back into DP? I'm trying to use soundflower but it's not working for some reason right now. Is there another way? Thanks for any help.
