I just got BFD 2, How do you use it with Digital performer? (5.11)
Do I have to have both programs running at the same time?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it says it will run inside dp, but it Doesn't say how.

Of course it does. It's in the
BFD2 Manual.pdf on
page 185. Read the section called
"Using BFD2 as an AU plugin in Digital Performer."

BTW it runs in exactly the same manner as any other VI. and that info is in the DP manual.

My bfd manual has only 180 pages.

Okay...
Have you tried searching for the term
"Digital Performer" in your manual?
You're going to have to put
some effort into it if you want to get something out of it.

Effort? That's funny. I've been pulling my hair out

I did find some helpful tutorials on the fxpansion website and some other pdf manuals.
I have an intel mac mini with only 1 gig of ram, BFD sucks that up like a $2 •••••.....
If I use more than a hi hat, kick, & snare at the same time my cpu goes haywire.

Maybe there is more than one manual? The pdf for download at FXPansion's site
does only have 180 pages and no mention of Digital Performer
kind regards

That's an important point you make. 1 GB of RAM really isn't very much, considering you have to run OS X, DP, and BFD2 at the same time.
How much RAM will fit into your Intel MacMini? If you can, max it out to full capacity.
If you're having a problem coming up with a BFD2 Template for DP, FXPansion's website has a template available for download (search their forum).
Also, turning off the built-in effects can make a huge difference. Even though I've never tried it, switching to 16-bit mode is suppose to make somewhat of a difference. Consider lowering the numbers of layers you have for your drum sets (again, I haven't tried it for myself).
Other than that, I don't really know what to say except for good luck.

I'm accessing the manual by clicking the "question mark" (Help) icon in the upper right-hand corner of BFD2's interface. Then, I select "Launch PDF Manual." It's 188 pages long.
I'm using BFD2 v2.0.4 build 17. Maybe we have different versions of BFD2?

Thanks, I can put 2 gigs of memory in my mini, but it ain't easy. They didn't make it easily serviceable. I will try turning off the effects in BFD, I only use the the effects in DP anyway.
