If m51 stands for MachFive 1, then the answer is no. MachFive 1 is not compatible with Intel processor Macs. You must upgrade to MachFive 2.

MachFive 2 is compatible with OS X 10.4 and OS X 10.5.

thanx for the links but motu says i need 1GHz processor speed to run DP6 and i refuse to upgrade my laptop to accommodate a requirement that is not an absolute necessity for me while on the road working as a music copyist.

so ...

if a student living in the CA 91603 area code wants my upgrade to DP6, post me privately and it's yours, however you'll have to pick it up because i have no interest in mailing it, and you must prove you're a student or no deal.

As several people have posted in the DP forum, you may be violating your End User License Agreement (EULA) by doing this. You will also lose out on future upgrades, since once you have received DP6, MOTU assumes you are no longer using DP5. If you want to go back to DP at some poin†, you would then need to purchase it outright. I'd sure check with MOTU before you give this away.

thank you all for the warnings but it's not necessary, if i had any intention of upgrading from DP5 i would be keeping DP6 for myself, so please redirect all of your concerns toward a student who might need DP6 for school work, etc. if it's not possible they'll find out by calling MOTU themselves and informing them of the situation. nothing comes for free without some effort. ~ mikio
