Hi,

I just purchased this unit, and will be running it under 32bit Windows XP Pro SP3.

Before installing the software off the CD I wanted to go to the MOTU site and make sure I got the most recent drivers, firmware, etc. I wound up on this page:

http://www.motu.com/download/download_m ... duct_id=14

I see what appears to be the most recent firmware: (1.06), but I'm not sure on that page what exactly is the most recent driver package. Is it: 32-bit Firewire and USB 2 Audio? If so does it also install the CueMix FX software?

Basically I want to follow the right software installation the first time through so I don't have to go back and rip things out and reinstall later.

Thank You

Adam

my personal experience with the mk3 was that i installed the drivers on the cd, didnt work as expected, reinstalled drivers from website, didnt work well, removed, reboot, reinstall again, update firmware, play...

recently i reformated my vista machine, which was giving me a headache before with the 828. One shot and it was up and running.

my advice:
- download the latest drivers package(called something like w32)
- install the drivers (make sure the unit is not connected to you computer)
- reboot immediately
- connect unit to pc, normally you will get the usual xp drivers installation windows
- switch off the 828 and reboot immediately
- switch on the 828, check if everything is alright, if its making sounds...
- update firmware
now you are ready to go

ps: the online drivers available for download will install the cuemix software, the hardware config app and the smtpe console

Thank you. Of course right after I posted my question, I saw another post which pretty much answered my question, I should have searched a bit first.

Anyway, of course today when I have time to do this, MOTU's download site is down. (They use Amazon's S3 service which is/was having issues)
