When an output pair is not in the monitor group, it is not attenuated by the MASTER VOL knob. Removing an output pair from the monitor group does not disable or mute that output pairs. It simply means that the output pair will not be affected by the MASTER VOL knob.
For instance, imagine that you're playing back audio from some program to the 828mk3 main outputs and the MASTER VOL knob is set to -30dB. When you turn off the MONITOR button for the main outputs in the OUTPUTS tab of CueMix FX, the MASTER VOL attenuation will not be applied to the main outputs and the signal will pass to those outputs with 0dB attenuation. In this example, when the MONITOR button is disabled for the main outputs, there will be an instant gain change of +30dB to the signal at that output pair.

that makes sense to me, thanks for explainig... another questions, bus section main output is assignable to all 828 outs, when i select Main Outs for example as the bus 1 assign, i get like double monitoring...
basically i would like to achieve monitoring inside cubase instead of 828 monitoring.

In the Applet program or what ever you call it or spell it (Audio Console) what do you have selected as your returns?

my current setup is few hardware synths, an reverb unit and the 828 mk3. i would like to achieve internal monitoring inside cubase. basically the synths are going into the 828 analog ins, and the 828 out 7-8 is going to the fx (auxiliary stereo setup), and the signal is coming back into 828 7-8 analog INs.
im not sure what you mean by applet, but my daw is cubase sx 3.
in my case, what would be the best and most efficient way to work, monitoring using the 828 or inside the daw software? i would anyway prefer to have everything monitored inside cubase to get the benefit of using the fx plugins before recording...
