DP with digi 002--optical out help needed
Does anyone know how to use the optical digital out on the digi 002 with DP?? No tech support I've called seems to have a clue...
What I want to do is send 6 audio outs through the optical out...I am using DP as a live mixer with my digi 002 hardware. Thanks for any advice...

Right now into an Alesis surround sound system, but in the performance space, to be honest, I'm not sure what I'm plugging into...but something that is supposed to be able to read optical as 8 outs (I am only sending 6 out of my optical out because my sample rate is 44.1)

The optical outs of the 002 show up as different outputs from the analog outs. You need to make sure that your Audio Bundles (DP) or I/O Setup (Pro Tools) are configured so that you can choose the optical outs as a destination.
Hope this helps!

Re: DP with digi 002--optical out help needed
I found this method of using the digital (ADAT) i/o of my digi 002 to work. I opened Pro Tools LE (6.7) and changed the clock setting under the hardware dialog to digital, saved the session, closed PT, opened DP, and voila. Even though the DP clock setting was "internal", i.e. "digital" could not be selected, the settings under PT took precedence and the ADAT i/o locked to my digital mixer. Try it!

You don't even have to launch PT to set the 002 to external clock or sampling rate.
Just go to the DIgidesign folder, launch the Digi CoreAudio Manager with no other program running on the background (PT or DP) and click on the HW Setup. Then, you can choose the FS and clock (int/ext).
Do not quit the CoreAudio Manager.
After that, you can start DP. The LED on the 002 should be solid color, which tells you the clock is established.
