Hello there,
Two weeks ago, I already bought the 828mk3 but anyway: does anybody know what is the dynamic range of 828mk3?
I don't know why they don't publish this information - not even in the documents arriving with the device.
Thanks for any info,
Cavalex

Don't know the dynamic range specs, but I get full range sound using my S90es synth keyboard. How high or low do you need to go?

Oh ... maybe I wasn't clear enough

, I just wanted to know how many db can the device handle - for example, as it is clearly stated in the specifications section of the HD 192:
# A-weighted dynamic range 120dB
# THD+N of 0.00056% (-106dB)
I just can not understand why they don't publish this information for 828mk3 or 896mk3.
Anyone have any idea?
Regards!

Ok what's a dB, What are the saturation, threshold points of the range given. I've look throughout the manual an can not see any electrical specs. Maybe they are to poor to publish, or to subjective based on the number and type of I/Os it can handle.

are those the actual specs of the HD 192? How can the dynamic range be bigger than the THD+N?
I was under the impression that dynamic range is the same as the difference bewtween your noise floor and your peak operating level without distortion.
If your thd+n is -106db than that would also be your dynamic range. Unless you are magically able to get past 0dbfs?
About the 828MKIII specs. My 828MKII, with all inputs unpatched, set to their lowest gain setting (+4) generally gets about 94db s 2 n. After the BLA mod its at about 96db. It also sounds better. But my left mic channel is few DB noisier than the right mic channel.

Some years ago, I read a German magazine "Testbericht" review on HD192 and they said that all specs of HD192 are real. They were very serious about the test (it was done at some technical University) and also put their diagrams and results in the review. They said that in some fields, HD192 even exceeded the specs. I think I still have the pdf of this review somewhere on my computer - if someone wants to read it (in german).
