Just in from the RSS feed... Firmware 1.06 - "Addresses a high-pitched squeal issue which may have occurred under heavy firewire bandwidth usage. "
Available at the MOTU site... here's hoping (I'm at my work studio right now and can't test it out...)

Hey guys let me know if this fixes the problem. I'm really interested in the 828mk3 but would like to know that it's fixed before I get one...

Haven't had the squeal with the new driver/firmware yet... but I haven't been working hard on the system. The show I'm scoring is back in production so I'll report back if I have any problems in the next few days with heavy use...

Three days of HARD use and NOTHING! YAY! The only problem I had was traced back to a stupid error on my part. I've even got my Glpyh's back online and no squeals... Almost like having a new piece of gear!
