MTP AV mac/pc

My old serial MTPAV died and I'm wondering how critical it is to get another of the same for use with a pc as the host for a sequencer for live solo gigs. Isn't all the accuracy associated with these boxes dependent on running them with DP? I'm not even sure if that improved timing applies to the older one.
Are others using mAudio or other MIDI interfaces successfully in a similar way with a pc?
Thanks

Hello, I have changed my Emagic AMT8 for a Timepiece AV. I noticed the Timepiece is tighter, and more acurate. I wanted to buy a Express XT first, but there is a big production hickup so it's not available for time being.
I can shurely advise to get a new Timepiece, there just a bit better!
