Could it be a timing conflict?

does anyone elses mk3 slow down the pc when enabling the MIDI in and out, MIDI shouldnt be sending anything so complicated it could slow things down, if it is a timing conflict how is that resolved, and why would all audio functions work perfectly without MIDI??

I know this isn't quite the same problem as my pc doesn't slow down, but I notice on my system setup, if I plug my Mackie Control Universal into the MIDI ports on my 828mk3, the display and timing on it lags in Cubase. If I plug it into any other MIDI ports, it works just fine n dandy. So I've always suspected something was up with the MIDI ports on the 828mk3. Otherwise my motu works fine and dandy, with the occasional squeal whenever I'm stressing the computer out. Never had a finicky piece of gear like the motu, but I still love it.
