Hello everyone, I am running the 828 mk3 and during installing everything
goes fine until the install motuwav driver comes up, I choose yes and
it starts to install and the whole system freezes resulting in a manual
turn off and reboot. I just had a fresh 64 x2 install, disabled windows
audio and have no security running. I am going to be using sonar 7
but havnt installed yet until I get this problem fixed.
I'm using texas instruments pci express firewire 400 card. amd athlon
6400+ black edition with 4 giggs of ram. any advice would be greatly appreciated. :D

Didn't have any trouble with the install on my x64 Vista system. However any time you try to run in any sample rate other than 44.1k the wave driver flips out. I have also suffered blue screens due to one of the drivers (I neglected to write down which one unfortunately).

Since this isn't my main DAW environment, I haven't put a lot of time into troubleshooting, but I do have a case open with TechLink or whatever that MOTU system is called. It seems clear to me that there are some definite issues with the Vista x64 wave driver.

windows freezing.

Thanks for the reply. I just figured out the problem. my computer has
no internal firewire. So I followed motus instructions to get a card with
a Ti chipset. The pci express slot is apparently shared with the irq
of the nvidia gforce 7300 video card. Nvidia drivers and motu dont
seem to play wel together. Went to circuit city and bought a nexxtech
3 port firewire card and did a fresh install. Now everything is working fine.
at least for the moment. This card has a via chipset but seems to work
at the moment. I think this might be a common problem so I will post
a general info spot for anyone who might have this problem. :D
