I just checked it out. Danger Will Robinson on this one, at least on my setup which is a PPC Dual 2.3Ghz running OSX 10.4.11.
This new version of Orange Vocoder is apparently a Cocoa-based app. If you're running DP 5.13 in Tiger, the interface shows up as that plain Apple AU interface.
Which would be okay, except that for some reason when I place OV on a mono track as a mono-to-stereo plug, I get a "you need at least two inputs" dialog box and DP then crashes. Not good...
There is no mono version, only mono-to-stereo and stereo.
This is enough for me to ditch it for now, seeing as the main reason I'd want it is to run it on vocals. Maybe someone else on an Intel Mac and Leopard will have better luck?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PPC Dual 2.3Ghz, 4.5 GB RAM, OSX 10.4.11, DP 5.13, 828 MKII, MIDI Timepiece USB AV, 2nd internal drive for audio, Liquid Mix, Waves, Blue Tubes, MH Channel Strip, PSP, Audio Damage, Ozone 3, T-Racks, NI, Spectrasonics, Arturia, a bunch of VI's running on a PC.

I wonder, if you are using the crossgrade version of OV, does it totally delete the previous version?

I sent an e-mail to prosoniq tech support, and they replied this morning. They're going to look into the issues - don't know when they'll get a fix for things.

169 Euros is a lot of money for something you will only use as an efx.... how often would anyone use this, unless you are in Kraftwerk or play with Laurie Anderson (who plays alone!)..... they need to drop the price and make sure the bugs are gone, then it might be of interest to more people. Right now, I'll pass.

+1 on that. 200 some bucks is too much for something like that.

I couldn't get it to work either, but maybe it needs an Intel Mac (I forgot to check)? The earlier attempt gave me a much older version that was VST-only.
This is a very different vocoder from the one that Eiosis makes (which is based on the old EMS high-end vocoders). I find the ELS Vocoder is ideal for that grungy analog vocoder sound, with Orange perhaps coming in handy for those wanting a more modern or experimental sound (though I couldn't get Orange to produce a sound that I liked, so I must be a fuddy-duddy that only wants classic/vintage sounds). The ELS is very smooth but can be pushed pretty hard. I found Orange trickier to work with in terms of clipping/etc.
