Perhaps if you stopped flaming your correspondence recipients and didn't use thousands of exclamation and question marks (which reads like a f'n teenager wrote it), you'd get actual answers.

pfff

that has nothing todo with the fact, that this morons are unable to provide a manual as any other audio interface company and also are not able to provide the specification of the motu mk3!

never seen a shittier support from any other company!

i wrote this with the exclamation and question marks because >> think about it!
it can`t be real that a company as motu is unable to provide the specification of their own interface!!!!

also > if you need a manual you only can buy printed versions. no pdf`s available for download! (and for the 828 mk3 there is no manual for download and also it`s not available to buy.)

this makes me really mad!

You'd probably expend less time and energy if you just buy the unit from a repectable dealer, try it out, and then send it back if it doesn't work for you.

I do agree that it's lame that MOTU doesn't have their manuals online. And if it's not available in PDF I'm sure it's available in some other format that potential customers can look at. We all know they send it to the printer in some electronic form to get those paper manauls made.

Look folks, he's not alone in on this. I understand his frustration, and his juvenile posting/mailing. One can get mad for less...

ALL OTHER manufacturers lists their tech specs on their site. MOTU has absolutely no info whatsoever inside the manual, or on their site. I've bought a brand new 828mk3 and no registration in the world would help me on this. There's very few shops that allows you to go in and try out 5-6 soundcards and then decide for which one to use. I know of none, basically.

Technical specs on the net, APART FROM SELLING FEATURES, are the only ones we can even remotely compare to each other. I want - especially - CROSSTALK figures since this is what I have problems with right now. SMPTE signals and CV signals bleeds over to audio channels however at a low level. S/N rations Dynamic range, input output mV max and min, and also the routing possibilities asked by the other guy.

But I still want it listed, and detailed specs, even Power consumption are of my interest. Coming to think of it, I can't find ANY tech specs on any MOTU gear on their site. Just features. I know very well, that tech specs are not all there is to it, but this is the only way we can compare things, before we take the plunge. All others have it, M-audio, PreSonus, Focusrite, RME, you name it...

But MOTU' s just very shallow about features of the mic preams and number of channels you can throw into it at once. What they have, everybody else has too, by and large, plus minus a few tiny features. Same quality? can't tell, and so far, inferior to most others I've tried so far. On this unit I have now at least.

I definitely agree with thread starter, that they ought to have shaped up by now. My music shop where I bought it, could not help me either. I am on my second unit, since the first one was considered by vendor as faulty. MOTUs starting to have a huge fall, compared to it's former reputation. I bought this unit purely of that M-audio wasn't able to keep up with the demand on their 2626. 3-4 weeks more delivery time. Maybe the competition starts to get too fierce for MOTU?

If I get no help on this one, I will go over to RME. It costs a couple of hundreds more, but one can get second hand units now, since it has been around for quite a while. I am tired of to have to "mail" and "post" around to get my questions answered (read: get my unit to work PROPERLY and not work to anything substandard), trying to read and understand poorly written manual and installation instructions, and that the first unit was dodgy for real, it makes me wary about following products from MOTU. Actually, it makes me wary of anything MOTU. MOTU = More Of These Ulcers?

Power consumption info is on page II of the manual.

Yeah, I saw that too, AC INPUT at the bottom of the page. Not on page II though. Tells me nothing really. It differs - perhaps - from US manuals and European/Scandinavian units and Manuals. I don't know. Comprehensive details I want. Just like the other companies. Can't be that hard to cram it all in in one place. Jitter specs would be nice.

Great... well here's a concept for you. Just don't buy a MOTU interface then. But one of the ones from another company. If enough people do that then perhaps MOTU will change to live up to your expectations. In the meantime, you've made your point, so kindly stop using this forum to rant. Thanks.
