problem with MTP AV USB on Windows XP

Trying to get MTP AV USB to communicate with my computer running Windows XP SP2 here and running into some odd problems....

The computer installs the driver fine and when I turn MTP AV on, Windows does recognize. Even in ClockWorks, MIDI Timepiece AV does show up. But, in the 'Routing' tab, I got nothing. No connection diagrams, no words, nothing!
Also, when I run Finale or Sonar, MTP AV ports do show up but fails to receive any MIDI data (playing on a keyboard connected via MIDI, which does light up on the front panel of MTP AV). Any remedy for this problem?
Also, ROM version does not show in ClockWorks either...perhaps that's the problem? When I turn on MTP AV, the screen shows "MTP-AV 2.0.0" which I'd assume is its ROM version.

Thanks in advance.

In case anyone's still following this situation with MTP AV USB in Windows XP, I've resolved the issue by updating ROM. They are available direct from MOTU and cost about $25 including s/h.

Perhaps it'd be a good idea to put this information on MOTU's website...just a little note mentioning that one needs to check the ROM version.

XP SP1 and no problem

I'm running Win XP Home SP1 and a MTP AV USB for over a year now and haven't had the problems you were having. My daw is not on the net so SP2 has no appeal for me. The only thing I don't like is not having the ability the manual tells you about being to rename the inputs and outputs. MOTU support was of no help.

I think I have the same problem. Where all the routing info was missing in clockworks. However I'm using the older model without the USB.

Not sure if this is related, but I read online the only way to use patches, or modifiers or MIDI cannons and all that "reason I bought this thing" stuff, was to configure it using a mac running OS9.

I just bought a G4 one for $35. However tracking down a serial PCI card or serial to USB has proven to be quite tricky. So I've a question to all you helpy helpertons on this forum:

1a) This ROM thing mentioned in this post, any idea if this will work on the non-USB version of the timepiece?
1b) If so, is this the only solution/update for windows or my timepiece which would allow me to configure the parches, modifiers and MIDI cannons on a PC running winxp?

2) Assuming the above is no, is the only way for me to connect the timepiece to my mac G4 running os9 through the serial port (as opposed to some kind of parallel interface that might exist for the mac, or something else I might not know exists since I know nothing about mac computers).

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
