if i plug in, lets say a synth, does this mean the eq's/compressors inside of Cuefx can be applied to the incoming signal from the synth?

cause i messed around with the eq as a "test" and i didnt hear any difference.

Yes, you can apply EQ to an Input, a Mix or an Output. Make sure you enable the "master EQ" on/off control in the mixer channel when you play with the EQ. The master EQ in the mixer channel makes it easy to compare with/without the EQ, i.e. turning on/off all the enabled bands in one shot.
