G5 2.0 Leopard ext. boot?

Post by guitron45 »

Hello Can anyone say if Leopard and my G5 will boot to an external fire wire and or usb hard drive? The G5 is late 2004 if that matters.

Yes, my Dual G5 2.0 boots with external firewire leopard drive.

I believe Blue and White g3 was the very last model to be unable to boot from a firewire drive.

My understanding: Intels can boot from USB2 but PPCs cannot. Use FIrewire... its way faster and more robust anyway.
