Hello Unicornist(?)
Since I bough Mach five( about 10 month ago) I have tried to make it work with different Host programm such DP 5.1, Melodyne Studio 3, Protools 6.3, Live6 and more. It does not work . I have installed and uninstalled it many time, but nothing. After the installation I opened the Host program (DP for example) into the Host I opened the instrument track, the Mach five appears in The DP instrument track, I choosed it and after few seconds the loading stop and the host program crashes. I tried the same with different host program.
Is anybody able to help me with this problem.
Thx.
Sorry for my english.

Have you repaired permissions?

Is your USB ILOK dongle plugged in?

Just a few questions...
What version of Mach5 are you using ?

What OS, are you using ?

How much data are you trying to load ?

Have you set it up for streaming ?

not on a Mac but do you have similar problems with any other memory intensive software (like BFD for example).

There's a slight chance you have a bad RAM chip. If you have a diagnostics program, check your RAM.

Other thing is to make sure you're not running out of disk space.

Crashing as well

I am using Mach V2 (the latest as of 6/08), DP 5.13, OS X 10.5.3. I am running a full orchestra and a drum kit in one instance of Mach V. It is streaming. I wanted to do this to save on my computer's resources (Mac Pro) It crashes whenever I load the drum kit (premium one). Am I taxing it too much? I didn't want to get into multiple instances of Mach V...

Thanks

joelmusic, I think you may be taxing it too much. How much RAM usage is it showing? I have had day after day of nightmares and crashes trying to get M5 working nicely on my MacPro. Basically I assumed it could load much more than it actually can. When I recently got my MacPro I read up a lot of advice on U'nation about RAM, drives etc. So I set up my system well(or so I thought) ...10 GB RAM, separate drive for DP projects, 2xSATA 10000 RPM drives, RAIDed solely for sample streaming.

Unfortunately I hit a brick wall very very quickly. I've had to spread the load over 3 instances and now it works OK..although I have had other weird problems (loud static as describe in another thread).

Once M5 approaches 40MB usage, whether it is the only instance or whether there are other instances, for me it becomes very unstable.

Buffers are@512. BTW,as I've mentioned elsewhere, I've done every possible troubleshooting routine I know, thinking that I really should be able to load more. But that's it for me.

Update from the MOTU website as well. Bad disks were made several years ago that would crash.

Thanks for the reply - OK, so over 40MB or so per instance is pushing it.

Hmmm - anyone else able to load more than 40MB without being unstable?

Thanks again BDR.
