Hi DP users.
Is there anybody using X-treme FX with Digital Performer 5? I just purchased this plugin and installed it. Every time I go to assign it to audio, DP crashes. Is there anyone experiencing this issue and or could anybody give me any advice as to what to do? I downloaded and installed the update for X-treme fx but it still didn't work.

I'm using it as a module within Plugsound Pro. No problems.
You are using this UVI soundcard, correct?

I am using the first version (not the UVI version) 1.2. I finally got it working. When I loaded the sounds onto an external hard drive, then loaded the application as stated in the instructions, the application created alias for the AU version and the MAS version. When I assign an Audio Track to X-treme fx, it would crash. So I played around with the alias folders by first removing them them out of the AU components folder, that didn't work so I put them back, then moved them out of the MAS folder. What I then noticed is that it didn't crash when I did that, but it didn't display any sound. So I removed the whole MAS plugin and everything worked without a problem. I am going to assume that there was some confusion with the program as to what folder to acess the information from and as a result, sent DP to crashville.
Aramis, I did try it in Logic 8 before I figured out the situation and it worked just fine.

Chrispick,
how does the whole UVI thing work? I am a bit confused. I do have Plug Sound Pro's UVI Plugin with the sound pack that came with it. But is there a way to use the X-treme fx sounds in my UVI plugin? I don't mean to sound like a dumb ass but how does that work?

The player needs to be current, but I was getting the same thing. It ends up that I needed to have both the X-TremeFX.ufs and the X-TremeFX.ufs1 both installed on my HD. I confirmed this with the vendor. I didn't think that I needed both and don't recall deleting one or the other, but that was the fix for me. Again, as mentioned by others as well, be sure the player is current.

I use it, and don't have a problem at all.
HOWEVER, after upgrading to Leopard, I have been experiencing crashes in DP generally..... maybe Leopard has something to do with it?
