MachFive 2, worth it for the sounds?

Post by daveyboy »

I already have Kontakt 1, 2 and 3. Curious if just based on the content if M5 is worth having. I like the idea of having another sampler option since I'm now retiring my Giga PC and just got a new 8core mac intel. Plus, I have logic so maybe I can easily open some of those samples (?). Plus, Mach5 might be a little better on the cpu seeing how it's a motu product. Thoughts? Places to buy that are better than the $369 price? Thanks.

Hey Dave,

I'm a musician (keyboard and bass player) and I just purchased MachFIve 2.0. The sounds are amazing specially the pianos and orquestra sounds. Really cool samples.

Thx Josh. Since I have all the Kontakt stuff I understand that Mach V duplicates the Vienna stuff. I guess the real question is, is it more cpu efficient/stable compared to K3? Anyone have any input in regards to that?

The sounds are great, but where did you see $369???

I paid $459 just a couple weeks ago from Sweetwater, and that was the price everywhere I looked... :-/

EDIT: I just checked agaqin: Sweetwater, Audio/MIDI, Musician's Friend all had $459. BUT I did see this at Bananas:

Looks like v.1 to me...

I'd go bananas. I always do.

Mac 2012 12C Cheese Grater, OSX 10.13.6
MOTU DP8.07, MachFive 3.2.1, MIDI Express XT, 24I/O
Novation, Yamaha & Roland Synths, Guitar & Bass, Kemper Rack

Pretend I've placed your favourite quote here

I think I must have mis quoted the price but in the meantime you've found a great price assuming it for version 2. Or maybe there's a free upgrade path.
