I have been having problems with the back to start locator buttons. I have tried all the re-installs with the os and dp updates. Including reloading all plugins and drivers for my gear. I figured this might clean it up but again today it has happened a # of times. In the past i have just avoided the button like the plague....It is frustrating and a severe waste of time without this function....any one with similar problems? I have an imac2.16 with 2 gb of rams .all my audio files are on a lacie fire wire drive-d2 and Im using an older motu 828 which is making a alot of digital squeeks ....please help...

I had that problem for about 2 weeks. I'd hit rewind, and it would just disappear. Quit without warning. I do not remember what happened after that, but after two weeks it went away. I wish I could retrace every step I made, because somewhere in those steps was the cure for this problem, apparently. I've been running DP almost round the clock (it's up right now) and working feverishly on a number of projects. NO problems. No crashes. No quits. No freezes. I've now run for at least 2 months without any of the above.

I don't get it, but something made DP run beautifully on my Mac Pro 2.66 GHz quad. Maybe it was Leopard. That's all I can guess at this point. So, I hear you and feel your pain, but... there's a cure. I wish I could tell you what it is.

Have you tried turning off event chasing, Turbobob?

If it solves the problem, your only consideration would be that you'd have to locate further back in a project than you'd like sometimes in order to capture controller data or MIDI note ons in order for things to sound exactly as they should. :?

I sometimes get a crash when hitting 1 (return to 0) while my seq is playing, so if I want to be sure to avoid a crash I hit zero first (stop) and then 1...

Let me know what happens. I like to work fast; hitting 1 while it's playing or hitting the period and the entering my counter location while it's playing, but I've had to slow down recently and hit stop first. (Oh such hardship! : )
