32pci or Setup_1.6.6.11

I have a two year old PC running XP pro. It is not 32 bit. I currently run driver version which is downloaoded with Setup_1.6.6.11 with my 2408. Is there an advantage to upgrading to the 32pci version, which is for Vista 32 bit but "will also work with Windows XP"?

I'm confused. You are running XP Pro, but it's not 32-bit? Are you trying to tell us that you're running XP Pro 64-bit edition?

I presume Wildplum has made a mistake. Anyway I’m running 32-bit and I like to know the difference between both drivers: Setup_1.6.6.11 and 32pci. Normally I would have installed the latest one, that’s to say 32pci, but I’m a bit surprised about its size which is only 4.27 MB compared with 16.7 MB of Setup_1.6.6.11 or 23.1 MB of the firewire driver 32fw.

Any suggestion?

Run the driver designed for your interface. If your interface is USB or Firewire use the 32FW. If your audio interface is a PCI card use the 32PCI. And if it aint broke don't fix it. Not every machine works as desired with the latest and greatest updates. Only update if you are having problems or a new feture is introduced you think you might want or need. Always make a Restore point before trying new drivers incase you need to roll-back to the old drivers.

Go with the 32pci.zip file. It is the later version (1.6.7.0).

I wouldn't worry about the smaller file size. I run the Vista 64 driver, which is only 1.9 MB, yet it still has everything I need.
