New instrument coming from them, looks cool but I think it's still months from release (9/15/08?).

Technology-wise, we're going backwards -- it runs on steam!

Looks to be very cool, and I wouldn't expect any less from Spectrasonics. They have always made great sounding stuff.

Nothing wrong with steam, look what it's done for Starbucks:)

Since the Intel compatible version of Trilogy will be "based on Steam" it will presumably not be ready for a year or so I am now looking for a plugin that does standup bass well. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Did you catch the impression on Eric's face just before he hit the keyboard, and produced the ultimate world domination sound..it tells it all.

September is a long time to wait, but I am excited. Especially with this little blurb in their info on Omnisphere:
Omnisphere is also the successor to Spectrasonics••™ popular Atmosphere® instrument, and contains enhanced versions of all the classic Atmosphere sounds. However, the brand new core library in Omnisphere is 10-times the size of Atmosphere and features thousands of completely new and different sounds. There will be an upgrade path for all Atmosphere customers, details to be announced in September.

Omnisphere is set to be released on September 15, 2008, and has an MSRP of $499 US and 399 Euro.
Regards,

Brian Ralston

I had my monitors a little hot when that part came on - my hair was blowin' back - I want it!

Eric's a genius at this stuff IMO.

I remember seeing that same expression at just about every NAMM during the 80's when he was on stage pimping the latest Roland stuff. He's always been a bit of a showman and ubergeek synth lover. He use to bend down over the keyboard with great drama while spinning the mod wheel to open the filter or some other effect.

LOL, that sound would be appropriate for Dr. Evil. Good stuff.
