MODULATION SOURCE + ENV ... HELP !!!

I have just installed Machfive 2 that I use with Digital performer.

I cannot have more than one modulation source for any parameters. In the modulation/automation page, as soon I try to add a new modulation source, it assign the same source as the first one, and I cannot change it, or it also change the first one.

Also I cannot edit or use any of the 3 aux env. I cannot load any preset or new one, and so cannot edit it.

Anyone has the same problems ?

The problems are the same on the stand alone version.

What version are you running ?
Think the current version is 2.02 (or at least 2.01) ?

Hmm, odd. Since multiple modulators might have conflicting results on the parameter anyway, maybe you want to use a modulator & sub-modulator instead?

Make sure that a keygroup is selected first; you can't edit the envelopes if there isn't a keygroup selected. If you want to affect the envelopes for all keygroups, select all keygroups.

for the modulation:

No I really want 2 or more different modulations source for the filter frequ (for exemple), for exemple the Keygroup LFO1 and the filter env... and I cannot. As soon I try to select env filter for the second modulations source (with add...) the fisrt one is also automatically set to LFO1, and the amount is set to the same. And if I try to change again the second one, sometimes both are set to "no modulation", or both are set to the new selection...
I haven't found anywhere in the preference where you can limit the modulations source to one...

For the env:

even if I select a keygroup with sound assigned to it, I cannot edit or use aux env 1 2 3 ...

HELP HELP HELP
Mach five seems to be a really good sampler for sound design (I used akai and EMU samplers for 10 years and it's the first virtual sampler that seems to be in the same level ...) but if I cannot use more than one modulations source for a parameters it's too limited.
Can you tell me which system (mac OS 10.???) you use without having these bug with machfive ?

- Select a keygroup
- Click on envelope 1, 2, or 3
- Click on Load Envelope and choose any preset
- Edit to taste

I'm using 10.4.11, MachFive 2.0.2.

I have the exact same problem. The bug that only allows 1 modulation source for the filter is terrible. I'm very surprised it has not been addressed. It is very common to use multiple modulation sources on a single filter. (For example, the filter envelope, a little LFO, and of course key follow.)

Is there anyone out there that has a setup that DOESN'T have this bug?

(using machfive v2.02, dp 5.13, OS X 10.5.5, macpro quad)

Gee, I hope this is in fact a bug. Long-time AKAI and EMU ex user here too, and I've had my eye on MachFive since its 1.0 release.

Hi, just recently started digging deeper into Mach V editing. I have the same issue with the modulation thing. At first, I thought I was doing something wrong until I read this thread. Has anyone heard from MOTU about this? Also, when I first got Mach V, I read a post that there were some samples missing from one of the 'male choir' patches. Has that issue ever been addressed?

Motu is definitely aware of the bug with modulation sources. I contacted tech support and got a reply saying that they were aware and that it would addressed in a future update. That was a long time ago. And the bug had existed a long time before I contacted them. I have to say I'm really surprised by their lack of fixing such basic functionality. It really makes you appreciate companies like Spectrasonics.

I think it would be helpful for everyone who owns mach five to contact tech support. Maybe they really will provide an update.

Well, I opened a 'Tech Link' with MOTU last Friday (2/27/09) regarding this and have not heard anything yet.

How does one go about starting a class action law suit?

They will probably reply, but only to say that it will be addressed in a future update. I kind of think the best thing is for everyone who owns machfive to just keep contacting them about the bugs until they do something.
