Hi,

I have a USB drive that is generally connected to my PC (yuk). I can read/write etc over my wireless network no problem. However, I needed to quickly transfer some large DP projects so I connected the drive to my MacBook Pro, only to be denied access. I think the message I got when dragging files was "you don't have permission" or thereabouts.

I looked at the drive info and it said "read only" and couldn't find a way to change it. Once I reconnected it to my PC I checked the permissions and it is set to full access.

What have I missed here?

I would make my Backups only with the OSX formatted drive.

I've had lots of 'permissions' problems since switching to Leopard! I'm kinda handy in UNIX, so I've been correcting ownerships and permissions and groups non-stop! I did not have any such problems in Tiger! Leopard is buggy!

when you mount the drive do a "get info" & in the permissions tab select the "ignore permissions..." option.

You now have a drive that is just a general transfer tool, and not one for protecting the user/permission structure of the documents.
