My guess is that it's more expensive because it's way more flexible. I've only got the AD demo, but have bought EZDrummer. You can't mix kit pieces from different kits in EZ, and you don't get all the sound treatment options that AD has (ADSR, effects, etc.). Sure, you can buy more expansions for EZDrummer, but one expansion in addition to the initial EZDrummer price makes it more expensive than AD. I'm not unhappy with EZDrummer, though. It lives up to its name - easy to use, and sounds good. I do think you almost have to shell out for more drum sounds, though, because the ones that come with the app are somewhat limited.

I have both and rarely use addictive. All that "extra" stuff is much less useful than just simply doing multi outs on ez and applying your favorite q's/comp's.
The sound seems more realistic from ez drummer, but everyone is different.

I dunno. I have EZ Drummer and Addictive drums and I guess if I did multiple outs on EZ Drummer I could get that more aggressive sound that I get with some of the AD kits, but I don't want to work that hard. I also like the ADSR options and it seems like the mixing is more flexible. What I like is the ability to turn down any AD kit piece in the overheads. I always struggled with that in EZ Drummer, although I admit I haven't put in the time with it. I also have Drumkit From Hell Superior and it was just a lot of work.
