Export as OMF file

Hi. I‘m selecting and using this option to export my projects to "pro tools".
The problem is that pro tools don‘t recognize the stereo tracks, and put them in two "mono" separate tracks.
In little projects this is not a problem, but in the the largest projects is really an inconvevient.
May be some one knows the best way to export to pro tools.
Is a convertion problem of DP; or is the way to manage the process with
Pro tools?( Digitranslator)

Thank you. Sorry for my bad english.

no solution - think OMF only supports mono files....

you just need to organise..

at least in protools you can drag 2 sets of mono files onto a stereo track.... works even if they aren't the same length!!!! ( ONE for the DP wish list me thinks...)

best you can do in dp is group - which falls on it's ass when it's time to time stretch...

just organise your files - then you can do the drag mono files onto stereo track trick - maybe ask at DUC cos they'd know better eh?

Gomez,

Have you tried;
a. Open a new PTools session, set to "Shuttle" then,
b. in the Finder, open the DP project folder, then it's Audio Files folder then,
c. grab all of your DP audio files and drag them in to your PTools tracks window. PTools will create PTools mono tracks for all of your DP mono tracks and PTools stereo tracks for all of your DP stereo tracks (.L & .R)

also, if you want the MIDI tracks from DP, do a Save As MIDI File in DP and in PTools, do File>Import>MIDI and you'll have all of the MIDI tracks as well. BTW, it's probably easier to do this step *before* dragging the audio tracks

good luck
