Video issues with MSI

Hi all:
New user to this forum. Love my MSI. I was hoping to get some advice regarding video display issues . I have read the FAQ's at the MOTU support site, and basically followed all the steps, but the issues remain.
I am using an ATI Radeon 9600 with the latest drivers. I have dual monitors
Win XP SP2
Here's what happens: In standalone mode (ver. 1.1.3) opening the program reveals just the outline of the program, and my wallpaper behind it. Unless I drag the program over to my secondary monitor, the program is frozen. Once in my secondary monitor, I have to click inside the program window to get it to appear, then it is functional.Draggin it back to the first monitor renders it useless.
I disabled all hardware acceleration, and that seemed to fix it, but some other programs that I use will not function correctly, like Nero Vision, which I use for DVD authoring.
As a plug-in in Sonar 7PE the same thing happens. I disabled the X-Ray feature BTW.
If you are running this plugin successfully, can you recommend a video card for me? I don't do gaming on this PC, but i use video.
Thanks...........
