I still can't run the 828MII USB under OS 10.5.1 on a G5 Mac!! (it apparently works OK on an Intel Mac with release 1.4.6)
MOTU have released 3 sets of drivers in a week but PPC is still not supported.
Getting a bit fed up now.... It's not like Leopard sprang out of the bushes from nowhere!! Developer copies have been around for months and months....

Are you sure it doesn't work on PPC? I've installet it on my two machines (Powerbook G4 and dual processor Power Mac G5) and it works like a charm.

hi borjam
are you shure you`re using the 828 mkII USB Version on PPC with 10.5?
it‘s definately not working over here, tried everything, even Itunes is not playing song when connected to the 828.....

It would really surprise me to hear that MOTU released intel only drivers. I would imagine that release is Universal Binary.
Maybe time to contact tech support and let them know what you are experiencing? So that they can either help you get it sorted out, or fix the driver????

Sorry, I use the Ultralite (Firewire).
I didn't understand that you were meaning that it affected *just* the USB model.

I have a call logged with MOTU for this.
I've been through a fair bit of testing now, including:
Installing 10.5 onto a separate partition with no other software and then installing the MOTU drivers. Still no good.
I made sure that the 828MkII usb was plugged directly into the Mac (not a hub) etc.. still no good.
Unplugged all other USB stuff. Still no good.
I'm beginning to think it's to do with the flavor of Mac I have:
----------------------------------------------------------
Model Name: Power Mac G5
Model Identifier: PowerMac7,2
Processor Name: PowerPC 970 (2.2)
Processor Speed: 1.8 GHz
Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 1.5 GB
Bus Speed: 900 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 5.1.5f2
----------------------------------------------------------
(You can get this from Apple/About this Mac/More Info)
DON'T CUT A PASTE YOUR SERIAL NUMBER AND POST IT HERE...(just a little security warning)
Does everyone who has a problem have this type of Mac???
Might nail it down if we do!!
