Getting video to play in a song with multiple chunks?

I am running 5.12 live with 25 song sequences about half contain video sync to the tracks. When I arrange the seq./chunks in a song for easy playback, there is no video out. What is the best way to run video live when using multiple songs where some contain video. I believe you can only have one video file per sequence, is that right? It would be great to have multiple video files in one long sequence for the whole show.
Thanks for the help.

maybe using quicktime pro?
- create a new video with all the video bits in it? check the use same vid for all seq's in the video window

I thought about that but it just seems like i should be able to do it all in performer. In protools you can drag multiple clips to any location in a single session, I can't understand why DP won't do the same or a similar work around.

Because DP is not Pro Tools. If PT will do it, do it in PT. DP doesn't do 'sessions' it does projects made up of individual sequences. The format just doesn't support what you are trying to do.
DP is not a video app. The suggestion to get QT Pro (or Final Cut Express and output a video) then import that to DP and chain you chunks is the only way your going to get this done in DP. Period.

First of all, I'm not a video guy, so I don't know how this is done, but a number of people have said that they specifically work with Chunks in Songs, because it's the fastest way to work with video. Maybe some of those people could kindly chime in and let us know how they do it.
Secondly, you can drag chunks to sequences, and place them wherever you want. They import nicely. You aren't limited to dragging them into Songs, though that's probably the easier way to arrange them.
Finally, what's wrong with putting them in a Song to get the timing right, and then converting the Song to a Sequence? That's easy to do, and I've done it so much it is second nature. Takes all of 3 seconds to convert. Be sure to include the Conductor Track.

because i am lazy i have never tried to turn my individual chunks back into a song then convert that song into a sequence as Shooshie says.
my workflow has always been to print each chunk as an .aif then import that into pro tools (add to session not convert). that lets me point to the SD2s in DP from inside of PT without having more media created.
**as i am often the sound guy it has just made sense to work this way for no other reason.
i guess the next chance i have a minuite i'll give the "all done in DP" a whirl.
it would make sense that in DP the song should be able to play a QT movie but as i have never tried i don't know if it works or not.

Ahh... my mistake. I thought you used Songs. It's just the chunks you use.

I hope someone tries this as well or share their experience with this way of working. I can get the song ordered correctly(Composed of multiple sequences-musc cues) and convert it from a song to a sequence and yes I've copied the conductor track as well but there are timing issues with the new sequence. The placement of audio and video are out of sync. It looks like the conductor tracks are copied correctlly but it's outta whack. It sounds like such a killer way to work but in my experience it is just unreliable. In fact I've never got it to work.

I had trouble with this, too, and I finally got it worked out...I think. If I get time tonight I'll go through it again and see what I come up with. If I remember right, it had everything to do with tempo. The new sequence wants to default to the Tempo Slider and 120 BPM. Make sure you have the Conductor Track selected as the source for the tempo. It doesn't do that automatically.

This is true: you have to select the conductor track to use. There is a learning curve with the Song window, but it's short and shallow.

Oh sweet. I haven't had time to check it but that sounds right. I have to say though having run into this problem before it can be a real annoyance. I wish Motu would streamline this feature in upcoming versions(the conductor need not be so slippery-it's a big time buzz kill) as well as update the song window to do what it does now but maybe take it to another level-on par with Ableton-more interactive(A dream of mine).
