UAD with G5 AMD-8131 chipset...

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting an UAD card, but after doing some research it seems that the G5 with the AMD-8131 chipset might have some bug with the UAD PCI x card... My G5 dbl 2.5 (part number: M9457LL/A) is using that AMD-8131 chipset...

Does anybody have an opinion or experience with that?.. Should I get the card anyway?... Are the performances still good with G5 using AMD-8131 chipset?... Would I be better off getting a Focusrite Liquid Mix?...

thanx all

I have a G5 with the same chipset. You don't get as many instances as a pc or other mac may, but I still think its worth it. I have two.

if the UAD-1 plugs intrigue you, go for it. i deal with the same problems, but don't normally run into the 8131 wall. @ 88.2khz, it does become noticeable when you try and use a lot of instances. extra cards only help so much. there's never enough dsp to go around when using uad plugs...freeze and move on i guess.
