MachFive2 Standalone not Launching

I have just spent the past several weeks migrating from a PPC to an Intel Mac (which was completely unplanned, but that's another story). Anyway, I have most everything back up and running (including Unisyn thanks to some help from Magic Dave), but MachFive2 is giving me some fits. It's launches fine as a plugin, so it's working perfectly, but the standalone version yields nothing when I try to launch it. I've uninstalled twice and reinstalled, and that hasn't helped at all. So I'm scratching my head over this one. Here's the specs:

OSX 10.4.10
Intel Mac Dual 3.0
5 GB Ram
DP 5.12 and Logic Studio 8 run the MachFive2 plugin
MachFive 2.0

Anyone run into this?

You'll need to install the 2.01 update.

Might as well follow up 2.0.1 with 2.0.2, as it seems to be an improvement for most (if not all).

Is there a 2.02? I think I missed that...

Thanks for the heads up!

Dear Bill,

Same problem over here! I have contacted MOTU about this and several other issues but they have ignored this one completely. In my case M5 most recent uupgrade (v2.02) doesnt improve things at all!

If you come up with a solution let me know!

hi Luke,

I'm still having the same problem even with the update. Fortunately the plugin runs fine in both DP and Logic, but standalone is not working.

Hi Bill- I don't have an answer but I have a very similar setup to yours and I migrated from a PPC to an intel and M5 is running in standalone (so far, at least, knocking on wood). I don't know why the standalone wouldn't run - the only difference I see in our setups is I don't have Logic. I hope you get it sorted out.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure why the standalone is borked on my system. It's more annoyance than anything as long as the plugin works. I've tried the uninstall, reinstall, upgrade technique twice, and no luck. But at least M52 works as a plugin, so all is not lost.

I'm having the same problem on my PPC: plugins work fine, standalone won't launch at all. Done all the upgrades and reinstalled - nada! Oh well!

Yep, the new versions did not help in the least. It really is the strangest thing, but thank god the plugin versions work.

Have you checked the Console for any logged messages ? You may have a clue there if you find anything.
I have a PPC, and it starts just fine...and I've heard people who runs MacPros without any problem
(The obvious question that I'm not gonna ask... iLok plugged in ?)

Nothing wrong with obvious questions billf!

Yep, iLok dongle is glowing good, software registered at iLok etc.

I'll check the Console log tomorrow, same time as I'm checking if DP 5.13 update will let me record audio again!!!

Meantime, back to planet Chardonnay....

Failing launch of standalone yields the following Console Message:

22/11/2007 11:10:59 com.apple.launchd[77] ([0x0-0x1f01f].com.motu.MachFive2[152]) Exited with exit code: 251

More of a Clouseau than a clue to one as technically blessed as myself, unfortunately!

I've posted a report to Tech Support, so there's at least one incoming Xmas missive to look forward to this year!!

Have you tried re-installing M5.2.x ?
It's probably a good idea.

Yep! Tried that - no good. Then re-installed updates - still nothing.
