Is the Tascam US 224 a good solution ?

I am thinking about getting a portable controller for DP. Does anyone out there have any experience with the US 224 ? Will the 224 work for moderate audio editing and processing? Most of the audio is pre-recorded prior to being fed into DP.

If not the Tascam US 224 are there any other options ?

Thanks for the feedback

If all you need is something inexpensive for audio in/out and a basic control-surface, this is just fine.

I mainly use the 224 for its MIDI inputs and the transport controls. However, the faders work fine for simple mixing and it's easy to switch banks in DP and have it follow along. For basic stuff it works. I think DP actually implement's the US224 better than Logic, at least Logic 6 haven't used it as much in 7. The controller works intuitively in DP, with Logic I find I have to use strange combinations to get things to work the way I want.
