digital distorted noise while using aggregate driver??

hi,
yesterday i recorded a live session for 90 min in Logic, 48kHz, 24Bit.
Today when listining through, i recognised the beginning sounds good.
after some time on most tracks there is a slow fade in of some very disturbing noise, but its not really noise, it sounds more like digital failures... This noise stays for quiet a time and then fades away again...
hmmmmmmm.....
any idea???
i used one 828mkII USB2.0 and one 8pre FW (=16tracks)
to use both i had to set uop an aggregate driver. i think i remeber reading a similar failure when someone used his aggregate driver...
Do you think this is the problem??
i will change the 828 to a second 8pre anyway, cause i need a quick access to gain of the signal, so in the future i will not use this aggregate driver..
BUT: I am interested if this was the problem or something else???
On the meters the signal was not distorted... and it doesnt sound distorted but (digitally) destroyed...
Thanks for any help..
