Setting up CME UF Keyboard Controller as control surface

Hi,

I just purchased a CME UF Keyboard Controller and am attempting to set it up so that its transport controls, etc., will work with DP 5.12 on a Mac (OS 10.4). The manual for the keyboard instructs me to launch DP and load the "Mackie Control template" then to set the remote control port in the template as "USB Audio Device."

I've gotten as far as the DP Control Surface Set-up window, and then have hit a roadblock. Any advice?

Thanks!

Are you talking about the UF or the VX? The VX has U-Ctrl but I didn't know UF did also...

Yes, the keyboard is a UF (UF-60 to be exact) and does operate in U-CTRL mode.

Thanks!

Yes, and just for clarification, the new UF series has U-Ctrl or the equivalent, and I can tell from the listed model number that the poster has one of the new ones. I think the older UF series has now been discontinued in place of the new series. There's not a huge difference between them, but apparently they tightened up some of the control surface issues and MIDI timing issues of the earlier series. The newer series has models with two digits vs. one digit in their name.

I'm also trying to setup a CME VX8 to run as a Mackie Control in DP 5.0.

Control Surface Setup will not recognize the CME over the USB Bus, but it will see it when I connect the CME VX8 to my MIDI interface. That only gives me MIDI in one direction, however, so the faders don't chase DP's playback. Hmmm.
