MIDI configuration problem(s)

Hello,

I use DP 5.1.1 on an Intel Mac, with a RME Fireface 400 audio and MIDI interface.

In a MIDI track, when clicking on the "output" drop list, the only choice is the "IAC driver". I would like to use the Fireface MIDI output ; how can it be done ? In the OS X "audio MIDI setup", the Fireface (MIDI) appears, and it's possible to use it in various MIDI-capable softwares including Max/MSP.

Also, when choosing the IAC driver for playing back a DP MIDI track, the vu-meter indicates the presence of some MIDI out signal, but there is no sound. The IAC driver works normally when reading a MIDI file with the Quicktime player ...

Any help about all this would be greatly appreciated
Best regards,
-j

The IAC iis not routing MIDI to quicktime. The Apple DLS instrument is. As for you FF400, make sure it connected to something (I.E. a hardware sound module you have) and connect it in A/M setup. After that you will see that device in DP.

See this for How to create a MIDI device in A/M Setup
