DP4.52 & Tiger- I can't get it to crash!

OK, I'm trying as hard as I can to get DP to crash and I just can't. I'm on a Dual 2GHz G5 (original) with 1.5 Gb of RAM. I'm running audio on a separate internal drive. I have a test sequence of 120 24 bit tracks playing continuously for 30 seconds and looped (many of these tracks are just copied over and over). I started adding Altiverb 4's to the individual tracks (mono to stereo). After about 14 or so audio was breaking up a little and CPU was spiking. I changed the buffer to 1024 (from 512) and I was able to have a total of 20 Altiverb 4's playing. The audio was breaking up a bit but after awhile it smoothed out somehow. I ran that in the background and played with Safari, burned a DVD, messed with Expose and Dashboard, checked the Activity Monitor, etc... DP was chugging away FINE. I still couldn't get it to crash so I decided to give up and stop adding stuff. I am running Waves V5 and Altiverb. Also Stylus RMX and Garritan Personal Orchestra.

MOTU and Apple, you win! I guess I'll make some music now:)

I get DP 4.52 and Tiger to crash when printing from the quickscribe window .

Maybe it has to do with the printer driver -- but mostly I think it has to do with how the printer
caches the pages -- it seems to be too fast.

My printers is a GCC XL-608 and a Canon USB S630

There are printer issues with Tiger related to various 3rd party printer drivers not being compatible. 10.4.1 is coming soon though.

As far as crashes I tried it for a marathon session one night with no problems in 4.5.2 on a second drive.

As far as the printer thing goes, I had some crashes from Quickscribe as well (printing via my airport extreme) when i upgraded to tiger. I fixed it by opening printer setup utility, trashing my printers and reselecting them. My little printer icon when i print is different in Tiger than it was in 10.3.9, so i'm assuming that it's a different driver that ships with tiger that i'm now using.

Hope that will help... it seemed to fix it for me.

Hmm,
should i worry?
i just got my dual 2.7 G5 with tiger!!!
I am using it with a mark 1 828 (you know.. the first one out!)
Downloaded the latest firewire drivers from MOTU and am running DP 4.52.
I have but 1.5 Gigs of ram.
I get constant spikes in the processor monitor which generally also result in audible glitches!
There really shouldnt be any issues ! Its a monster machine..
I see that no one seems do be having any issues with tiger so far..
Am i doing something wrong?
have i missed something?
I am running old projects done on my 1gig tibook,
it should breeze through them but yet nope, spikes!
All help and ideas appereciated!

PS welcome back unicornation!!!

Had my first crash today.... Clicked from DP to desktop and BANG.... DP left the building.... Traced it back to my Korg Poly plug in.... a little unstable with Tiger....

other than that Im happy... get some processor spikes when using Amplitube but very rarely.

(DP G5 2.0 GHZ, 4GB, Tiger , DP 4.52, MOTU 896, tonnes of plugs)
