Ultralite Newbie No Audio

Post by CMEPCMEP »

Hey Everybody,

This is my first real interface so hopefully this is blatant and I••™m going to embarrass myself. Additionally after searching here, nothing••™s jumping out.

I••™m simply not getting any audio playback. We••™re running XP PRO | SP2. This is my first install. It••™s recognizing the piece in Devices | Audio | Playback. However, on the main Volume tab, it says ••œNo Audio Devices••

The MOTU device acts as it's own "sound card" which has it's own controls (Cuemix). All windows sound could be routed through the MOTU as an external sound card. Therefore the windows volume controls have no effect.

If you are able to record and then "see" some playback waveforms, but are not hearing them, check your settings on th recording program. Generally speaking, Cuemix is used for monitoring the recording. In the case of SONAR, it's controls are on the screen to be adjusted for the playback.

If you are able to record and playback, you may not need the updated drivers from "Uncle Bill's" website. My hp laptop did not preform as well as expected until I did the download. All is well now.
