USB microphone question

Post by glsimonsen »

This might be an elementary question, but if you use a USB mic do you have to switch over to built-in audio or can you still use your peripherial soundcard? thanks.

I think your usb mic should appear in audio-MIDI-setup.
In case it doesn't, then you need to install a driver for your usb-mic.
Take a look to be shure, then close audio-MIDI-setup.

If it does appear, just shift+select usb-mic altogether with your soundcard in DP thru "Configure audio driver" .
Avoid creating an "agregate device". Many weird stories on this board around it. DP includes this fonction in a more effective way.

Anyway read thru all of Configuring the hardware driver in DP manual.

Don't forget to switch your clock source to the usb mic before recording. Otherwise : clicks and pops !
