Mach V 1.2 not working with Logic Pro 8

I can get it loaded up, even though it doesn't pass the validation test, (never did, even in Logic 7) can hear it when I play my MIDI controller, can record it, can watch it play back in the MachV window, but NO SOUND!!

If anyone is using version 2 with Logic 8 please let me know, as I will upgrade my MachV
thanks

Seeing as how Apple kept Logic Pro 8 a total secret, even from 3rd party plugin developers, it's very likely that many plugins will not work with it for quite some time until plugin developers have had a chance to test and rewrite.

MachFive2 is a substantial improvement over MachFive. Huge upgrade, and very much worth the effort and cost. But it will be a while before we know if it works with Logic Pro 8.

Rich -- from what I remember you needed to upgrade from Logic 7.01 to Logic 7.2 and Mach Five 1.2.3 for MachFive to validate in Logic.

ON EDIT -- I was mistaken -- you need to upgrade from Logic 7.01 to Logic 7.1 see technote in my post below.

But then again see carrythebanner's post about 7.1.1

See this page:

It's not specific about 7.1.1 vs 7.2.x, but I don't think MachFive 1.2.x validates in 7.2, either. Pretty sure you need MachFive 2.

Weird -- it doesn't work in 7.01, works with 7.1 but "may not work" with 7.11 -- that's LOGIC for yah!!!!!:

Tiger (10.4), MachFive, and Logic

Under OS 10.4 (Tiger), the AU version of MachFive 1.22 public beta appears to be compatible with Live, Garage Band and other AU hosts, and we are proceeding with on-going AU testing. However, the MachFive 1.22 public beta is not compatible with Logic 7.01 under Tiger. Logic users must upgrade to Logic 7.1 to successfully run MachFive 1.22 under Tiger.

As a rep once told me - Pro Tools isn't pro, Logic isn't logical and Reason isn't reasonable! You'll be telling me Live is all recorded next :D

Mach 5 v1 BARELY worked for me in 7. Even after getting the right updates... it crashed a lot, it was very unresponsive (had to click in the EXACT center of a knob, or key in the editor to get it to respond).

It was seriously unusable.

Mach 5 2 does look nice, but my experience with v1 left a horrible taste in my mouth (not to mention the ridiculous wait, from the announcement, with no updates on when it would arrive)

Likewise for me in Pro Tools.

As much as I love DP, I'm much happier with Kontakt as my sampler of choice.

Same.

It's got its own problems that make it non-functional for me (see starts/ends thread), but on brief trial, it does open, play back recorded MIDI, and publish multi-outs. It also crashed Logic once tho.

FWIW, today, I installed logic 8 on my dual 2.7 g5 running 10.4.10 and qt 7.1.6. MachFive 2 passed AU inspection and I was able to load sounds into it and play them from my MIDI keyboard.

Are those for whom the combination is not working using an intel mac?

On my mac with PPC G5, MachFive2 is validating and running perfectly on Logic 8. Except for some old fx plugs, other plugs validated and working OK as well.

I just tested Machfive2.01 in my Mac Pro, it works OK (Except for Giga files which dont play in any DAW).
