Big problem in MachFive 2 on my system

MachFive 2 has been running flawlessly on my system since I installed it last Saturday (August 11). I quit MachFive 2 tonight to watch a DVD. When the movie was finished, I quit DVD player and tried to open MachFive 2 again, but it would not even go past one bounce of the icon before it stopped. It's not an authorization problem; the iLoks check out fine, and still show that the MachFive 2 registration is present and working. I tried the standalone version of MOTU Symphonic Instrument, and it booted just fine, so there's no universal problem with standalone plugin/apps.
I opened Digital Performer, and MachFive 2 loaded perfectly fine as a plugin, which shows that it IS installed, and IS authorized. But it refuses to boot up as a standalone app. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice now, each time restarting the computer, running Disk Utility and repairing permissions (there were none to repair), and I've tried everything I know. I've taken my MachFive 2 data hard drive off-line, thinking that might have some corrupted data, but it doesn't change a thing. Besides, MachFive 2 never gets far enough into the booting process to access a disk. The dock icon bounces once, and stops.
The only thing I can think of that happened after quitting MachFive 2 was that my DVD player crashed with a scratched disk, though I was able to skip ahead and finish the DVD after restarting the computer. MachFive 2 however, will not even begin to boot now. Not even after reinstalling it twice and deleting preferences!
Here is a list of what I've tried so far:
••• I have uninstalled all software that was installed since MachFive 2 was installed.
••• Repaired permissions (several times)
••• Uninstalled MachFive 2 (twice)
••• Reinstalled MachFive 2 (twice)
••• Taken data drive offline (twice)
••• Restarted Mac after every major operation above
••• Opened MachFive 2 in Digital Performer (works fine)
••• Opened other plugin/apps as standalone apps (MOTU Symphonic Instrument, Ivory, etc.) They all work fine in standalone mode.
••• Tried opening MachFive 2 from a saved Performance file. It asks me to choose an app. I choose MachFive 2, but nothing happens.
••• Checked Console Logs. Can't find any direct references to crashes, etc. Only installations for MachFive 2
I sent all this as a Tech Note to MOTU. Hopefully someone there will have a clue. Any takers here? I'm not desperate, I guess, since I can still use it in DP as a host, but I certainly enjoy working with it as a standalone app, and I don't want to lose that ability. Not to mention the fact that something is obviously very wrong!
