hi there!
just got back from a 3 week trip to afrika - cabo verde! goal was to record traditional and modern music of cap verde! i took with me my old ibook g3 800 mhz, a 896 motu-interface, a few mics and a furmann voltage controller.
first i was on the island fogo in a village in the crater of an old volcano. they only have diesel generators and furmann did a pretty good job. the last week we spent in praia which is the capital of cap verde. i met some really good and famous musicians there.
and all with dp 5.1 which did such a good job; most of the sessions i had 5-8 tracks recording at 24 bit and 44.1 khz. and also my little ibook (remember g3?) ruled!!! so, ibook g3 - os 10.4 - dp 5.1 - the perfect recording station. and i recorded everything to the internal hd (!!!) and did backups on an external fw-hd!
cu, robinsky
