10.4.10 issue confirmed-- not X4X

Yessir-ee, 'Cornies. It was bound to happen and someone here called the odd version number issue (way before X4X was ever thought of).

Hopefully, no one here running 10.4.10 is having this problem.

uggg... that's unbelievible no one caught that ... kinda like another problem programmers started worring about in 1995 or so....

That site said:

"there is a work-around••”temporarily change the contents of your Mac••™s SystemVersion.plist file (in /System/Library/CoreServices) to disguise your system as OS X 10.4.9."

Now what does that do to Apple's new, cool keyboard that REQUIRES x4x to run? Are we are starting into the world of PC-Macs?

I wonder if this is why I spent the last 2 days re-installing my programs and OS back to 10.4.9....thanks Apple!

What's interesting is that 10.4.11 has been seeded to developers. It makes me wonder just how Apple is trying to get around this mess. It's likely that additional complications will transpire if the method of version numbers are changed for those using 10.4.10-- especially if apps can't distinguish between 10.4.9 and 10.4.10.

I'm more suprised not to have read reports of 10.4.10 being confused with 10.4.1.

How is 10.4.10 playing with DP 4.61 on PPC G5s and PB G4s??? Does anyone have any issues? I'm asking because I am seriously thinking about getting an Apogee Duet and it requires 10.4.10. I am still on 10.4.7 and all is well but I will need to move from here at some point, right?

If you have problems with PPC Macs using DP, Peak LE, Waves Ren Max, Nomad Vintage Studio/Blue Tubes, NI Komplete, and anything else in my signature, please let me know before I upgrade this week!!!

Any help is much appreciated.
