[Power Problems?] Ultralite

So, I've had my Ultralite for about 6 months now, and have not had any problems running it on my PC so far.

But, just recently, I noticed that the backlit display has been flickering between normal brightness, and barely lit. At first, it appeared that power wasn't getting to the unit, so I ran it off the DC wall adapter instead of the firewire bus, and still the same thing. Because the unit is still functioning correctly, I'm wondering if it's just the bulb inside that is responsible for the backlighting probelm?

Has anyone else come across this in the past? I use this unit in the studio, and want to make sure that I have a fully functioning Ultralite.

I am still running firmware v1.1 only because I've read a bunch of stories about peolpe having problems updating their firmware and drivers. If it isn't broken, why fix it?

its just that your backlight is faulty and about to fail

Dead LCDs have been a far too common problem with 828 MKIIs (mine died after 3 months) so i wouldnt be surprised if the UltraLite is no different. I guess you're still under warranty - in that case you can send it in and they'll do a refurb at no cost (apart from shipping) or if its out of warranty its a fairly easy fix if you feel up to doing it yourself.

Cheers,
