So, my HD lost sectors and I had to reinatll OSX. I used the option to keep user accounts and settings, but my original user accounts were not availible (though the user folders are still there). DP (5.11) launches and runs, but it shows no plug ins of any kind.
I read that plug in information is linked to the user that is logged in (according to DP help) ... but is there a way to transfer or point to that info in DP? I don't see it as an option at all.
I REALLY don't want to reinstall DP and my plugins if I can help it ... Am I doomed? If I drag the pref files to the new user account with that word, or just hose me?

I had this happen to me. If you have a previous system folder, look in the library / components folder and if the plugins are there, drag all the plugins back into the current folder. that did the trick for me.

To the best of my knowledge, the old system folder would only contain the retired components *if* Archive and Install was selected when updating the OS.
The best thing to do is to just reinstall the plugins. If the plugins were originally installed from a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, it may be necessary to start there and then to download the updates, if any. In some cases, these plugins may have to be re-authorized.
It's always best to back up your system drive in cases such as these. If you have virtual instruments with large sample libraries installed on other hard drives, these directories are left untouched-- so at least you have been spared a do-over with that time-consuming part of the process.

The bundled plugs and VIs with DP are no problem. Just reinstall DP from disc and follow it up with whatever updates you need from motu's download pages.Sylver wrote:I was afaid of that Frodo. Well, the only big Plug I have is Battery, but the MOTU and Apple ;ugs are missing too.

Apple plugs are part of the System and should already be there. Open Garageband to see if you can load up Matrix Reverb or similar.
