SPDIF Output meters?

Hello,
I just bought a Traveler, and I have it hooked up to my Mac Pro. I am running SPDIF output to a pair of JBL LSR4328P's. It sounds amazing. However, nothing shows up on the SPDIF meter LED's on the front of the motu, and it seems nothing happens when I adjust anything in Cue Mix. I read through the manual, but only briefly. Am I missing something?
My friend, who also has a Traveler, said something about needing to loop the Optical output to input in order to view the output level LED's...
Thanks in advance!

Well for anyone who searches for this, I figured it out. The optical loop worked. I just looped optical out to optical in, and changed them to TOSLink. Since, I am using the traveler's Coaxial digital output to go to my LSR4328's, I won't really be needing the optical at this time
Maybe I'll send the main outs to a mixer so I can have more blinky lights haha

Hello Guys, I'm having a bigger issue with outputs.. not only the digital ones:
I've recently purchased a brand new MOTU Traveler, I've done all the connection right, but, even if I can see input signals on its analog LED meters, output LEDs are definitely off and no audio is audible in all the outputs (with or without firewire connection). There's no mute, levels are up and I've tried with all the output configs.
And I've forgot to mention that even trying with computer connection (iMac Intel Core Duo) with CueMix Console I can't select any output: I can read "output disabled" on its selecting button, and even if I choose any other output from its pop-up menu, it returns always on "output disabled"!
I've already tryied to disinstall and reinstall all the software...
What else can I do?
Thanks for any help!

Do you have the latest drivers? Open Audio MIDI and see if the Traveler is recognized. If so make certain it is selected as the audio output. It is normal that you can not change output levels from this panel, for that you need cue-mix or DP or equivalent.

Of course I've the latest drivers I downloaded from MOTU website and firmware is 1.07.
Yes, I have Traveler on Audio MIDI Setup, and it is selected as Default Audio Output (from the relative panel on Audio MIDI Setup i can see all the available outputs, but it doesn't allow me to turn the volume up!).
Anyway, as in my last post I reported, I've been trying to do all the changes from CueMix console, not from here.
Does this all makes sense?

I think he's trying to post his reply in the subject line, so when he hits "enter", instead of going to the next line it submits the post. Looks like operator error...
